BMR Calculator

Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the energy your body uses at complete rest. It's the starting point for any calorie target.

BMR Calculator

What your result means

Most adults have a BMR between 1,200 and 2,000 kcal/day. Larger people and people with more lean mass tend toward the upper end.

How we calculate this

We use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, the modern standard for estimating BMR without lab equipment.

Limitations

Equations estimate; only a metabolic cart measures true BMR. Expect the calculated number to be within roughly ±10% of your real value.
